Mr. Gagik Vardanyan has been a Treasurer and Director of the Microfinance Center (MFC, Poland) since 2005, and since 2006 a member of the Microfinance Network (MFN, supported by ACCION). Mr. Vardanyan serves as an Executive Director of Kamurj Universal Credit Organization LLC. He was a Project Manager since 1995, and subsequently a Deputy Director of “Save the Children Inc” Armenia office. Since 1998 Mr. Vardanyan founded and was responsible for the micro finance program … management of “Save the Children Inc.” Mr. Vardanyan was in charge of the development and implementation of the micro finance program, methodology, strategy and business planning, as well as development of the services and building infrastructure. He received training on microfinance in the USA, Germany, Scotland, Bolivia, Morocco, Egypt, Cambodia, Bulgaria and a number of other countries, as well as being specially trained on leadership in microfinance at Harvard Business School/USA. He often lectures and provides microfinance consultation for organizations in various countries, including invitations from ILO, OECS, UNDP and MFC. Before joining “Save the Children” in 1995, Mr. Vardanyan worked as the Chief Specialist in the Armenian Ministry of Industry, managed the EU TACIS Business Communications Center for developing the SME sector. Previously he was engaged in developing industrial automation systems (electronic design) and also worked as a group leader in the British “General Electric” (Kidsgrow, Cheshire) for around three years. Mr. Vardanyan has completed high education post graduate courses in engineering.
